N147CD is an SR20 and was the first Cirrus bought by Ian Valentine shortly after he qualified for his PPL.It has a fuel injected engine, an automatic variable pitch propeller and fixed undercarriage. A four seat aircraft, it can accommodate three people and luggage, or four people subject to fuel limitations.
Although it has only a 200HP engine this performs better than some older aircraft with 300HP turbocharged engines.
CD has a traditional "Six pack" of key instruments and originally was fitted with an ARNAV multi-function display (MFD), pictured below. It has subsequently been upgrade with the same Avidyne MFD system being used on current models, including EMAX engine management , stormscope and TCAS.
A recent addition has been CMAX charting which enables instrument approach and airport charts to appear on the MFD.
